Why we Would not Lie?

WARNING: It is a draft, many more will be added to this message.

St. Paul was executed by the Roman Emperor Neron. I often wondered why Paul would not renunciate the name of Jesus and so keep himself alive; this way Paul could be able then secretly preach Jesus and save many more souls, thought I. Many preachers explain it so: if Paul would renunciate, he would be not sincere and not sincere preaching would be not effective; I wondered that Paul was enough clever to pretend and lie effectively. This is not the reason for Paul's confession of the name of Jesus even before Neron.

Indeed I know that Paul behaved rightly because Jesus have said: (Mt. 10) 32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. and I know that Jesus is always right. Paul was right because he followed the words of Jesus.

So, I had nearly a contradiction in my mind: Bible teaches me to not lie and I know that it is right while my human knowledge teaches me to lie to gain success, even success in preaching Gospel for salvation of souls. Both halves of my mind have come to failures: human knowledge is useless without having a purpose which for me is only in the Gospel and is incompatible with any lie, and knowledge of the Gospel were of a little use for me as I was unable to relate between teaching of the Gospel and practical aspects of the life where I have been seeing no other way to move on than to lie.

I simply knew that Paul behaved rightly but was able to found his example only attempting to mechanically repeat what he did without understanding what I do. I've lost the criteria how to behave in this life being pulled in two different directions.

Light

Bible teaches (Phil. 3:16) to the extent that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule. The extent of knowledge we as people have attained is the Relativity Theory of Albert Einstein (well, also quantum theory but it does not matter for this teaching). Relativity Theory teaches that the speed of any information is never above the speed of light, 300000 km/sec. (Spirits can move faster because these are not necessarily follow the way of information of this World but this is unrelated with this preaching.)

The teaching about the light is very much important because Christ is the light of the Universe as He has said (??) I am the light of the World.

So, we should live accordingly the rule of the maximum speed of the light.

If we, for example, say a word (or even think a though) some of its energy transforms into radio waves (even when we speak without microphone because the atmosphere of the Earth itself is a big microphone) and flies in the outer space with the speed of 300000 km/sec. We as people can do absolutely nothing to stop a word which we have said. If we say an another word it can never attain the extent of a previous word.

So, I conclude what were done first is always more important that what were done then. Yes, Jesus says (Rev. 1:17) Don't be afraid. I am the first and the last. Jesus is more important than anything other, so the first is more important than anything other.

Importance of not Lying

Before God we are useless (God indeed loves and saves us). Moreover anything what we can do is only a harm because we cannot add or remove anything from/to what God does. (It is not reason to stop live because our attempt to stop would also cause some harm.) Bible teaches that only God is right and what we do is wrong.

Probably the biggest harm we can do is to say a lie. When somebody says any lie, it spreads 300000 km around him after only one second and the zone of the disinformation continues to spread! The amount of harm we can do is fantastic. (Well, for God it isn't hard to correct our failures.)

Most of us never though that we can do a harm of so big size.

Surely it would be better to start thermonuclear war which would destroy the whole Earth than to say one lying word. Having such a choice I would choose thermonuclear war.

This way I understood why we must not lie even if our lie would gain us money, respect, friends etc. We cannot use what we gained with a lie to correct the lie, and even remotely reach it. Anything what we could gain with lie is incomparable with the harm of the lie.

(Rom. 1:18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

Proclaiming Truth in Christ

[TODO: Explain it to not understanding readers.]

However, even the giant harm of lie described above does not matter in Christ. Simply, in Christ there are no lie and no harm.

It is that the harm described above is harm measured by the standards of the World. But we are not of the World and do not live by the standards of the World, even the heavenly World. Instead we are in Christ and Christ is not of the World.

In Christ speaking truth is a great benefit which is so great that it is even exceedingly much more than the harm of lying in the World.

It is that we are to not measure the harm of the World because we not of the World but instead to measure the benefit of saying a truth in the place of a lie.

So proclaiming Gospel is an exceeding benefit which destroys the harm of the lie and overcomes lie. (We proclaim good news not in the World but in Christ. Good news move faster than the speed of the light because God makes good in every place and while we proclaim a good news in one place the same good news also happen in other place at a long distance so that there are no need to wait while information will spread. So, good news move faster than lie and overcome it.)

Not in the World

Gospel rather emphazingly teaches that we should live not accordingly this World. The reasons of Gospel are outside the world we used to limit our thinking by, that is outside the Earth. While we think only about the Earth, we cannot find a reason to live accordingly Gospel, particularly a reason to never lie.

Christ says about us (Mt. 17):

11 I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.

So where is what is the only important thing for us believers, that is Christ? The radio waves with our words are no more on the Earth. Our words are in the heaven going to the Holy Father! As such our words must be holy.

16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

That is we are not limited to the Earth or anything but are connected with everything around us.

17 Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.

For this reason we are to be sanctified in the truth.

18 As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world. 19 For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

22 The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one.

We have glory in Christ, every word we say becomes known even in other star systems. This unites all of us into one system, we are not a separate planet unrelated with the rest.

13 But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

When I realized this, life for news, my joy became full because the things of the World (hate, oppression, poverty etc.) are revealed to be not important. The only important thing is that we have God's word.

Life for News

The word gospel (Greek word EVANGELION) is translated good news, correct news. We, believers, live only for the Gospel because we have not attained a higher level message. (There are in fact no higher level message as even the name of the Gospel can be translated the right, correct message.)

So we live for news. We are to live so that good news about us would be distributed. However we should not pretend because radio waves come through us and we cannot hide our thoughts and hypocrisy is revealed.

This (Gospel) makes our life different. If we would live not for news but for events of this World, much of the teaching of the Gospel would be nonsense. But as the purpose of our life is in the news not in the earthy events, these events are not important for us by themselves.

It can be formulated in a short motto We live for the news not for events. (This doesn't imply that we don't want to influence the events as news indeed are related with the events.)
